Set high on a remote ridge in Victoria’s Strath Creek, this striking retreat was the subject of Grand Designs Australia and later featured in House & Garden magazine. Designed by interior designer and former Olympic snowboarder Joh Lyle with her husband Josh, the property reimagines the classic Australian farm shed as two sculptural pavilions — one for living, one for sleeping — seamlessly integrated into the landscape.
I worked alongside Joh from Siesta Home, assisting with styling for both the television reveal and editorial feature. Our approach celebrated the pared-back architecture while softening the interiors with earthy tones, layered textures, and handcrafted details, creating a home that feels warm, liveable, and deeply connected to its dramatic surrounds. The result is a retreat that balances resilience and refinement — a place designed for family life and shaped by its spectacular environment.
